Nakami was founded by a couple seeking to simplify hair care for men, making a dandruff-free, healthy scalp relevant, accessible, affordable, and functional for everyday men looking to elevate their appearance and enhance their grooming habits.

It all started from a real, personal need...

Nakami was born from Kenji's own personal struggle with persistent dandruff, scalp itchiness, and flakes. In the process of trying to fix it, he realized that:

• 1. Men know very little about scalp health, and when he asked other guys around him, he wasn't alone.

• 2. Anti-dandruff products on the market are complicated, confusing, and often packed with harsh chemicals that cause irritation.

• 3. The products offered in "advanced treatment routines" were incredibly expensive for a daily necessity.

• 4. There was a lack of brands dedicated exclusively to men’s hair care that truly understand the heavy sebum production and unique structure of a man's scalp.

Leveraging his experience in e-commerce and marketing, Kenji got to work. He turned to Yuka, his wife and also a Marketing and E-Commerce specialist, to help him develop a men's anti-dandruff solution that met three golden requirements: highly effective, easy to use, and affordable.

With the right team, skills, and structure to reach everyday men, we only needed the final ingredient: the formula itself. A difficult mission? Yes. But not impossible.

We conducted an exhaustive search to find the most advanced scalp-care formula on the planet. That is when we successfully connected with a master formulator at a leading Japanese laboratory with over 35 years of experience developing products for some of the world's top-tier hair care brands. Inspired by our vision, they decided to take on the challenge: utilizing exclusive Japanese technology to develop the ultimate specialized anti-dandruff shampoo tailored specifically for men.
